The main reason why there is a 6 (not 10) character minimum on suggested edits is because we don't want to be wasting reviewer's time. Every edit you make with <2k rep requires the time of 2 reviewers to be approved. However, when you can edit posts without approval at 2k rep, your edits are no longer reviewed by 2 people. And hence you are not wasting ...

Posting comments that don't offer any value simply for the badge definitely isn't a good idea (and I'm sure you're not too surprised by that!). Although the system has no way to tell whether your comment is constructive or spam, you would hypothetically be awarded the badge... but once other users notice comments like that, it's likely that they'd be ...

Related: Why are trivial edits discouraged? which draws the conclusion: the system gently encourages behaviors that make life easier for all concerned. Key to edits is to preserve the original intent of the post even when making changes to improve it. From our help page: Edits are expected to be substantial and to leave the post better than you found it....

The system does have algorithms in place to detect voting rings (people who mutually upvote everything others in the group do, which corporate entities have actually engaged in in the past) and such things. Reversals might have something to do with that (presuming this is distinct from "deleted user"). I'm not going to identify your biggest fan, ...

In addition to Aurora's great answer, I'll add the moderator perspective. Do not spam the site. It creates more work for the moderators and that makes us grumpy. You don't want us to be grumpy ;-)

There's nothing wrong with that if you actually have an answer you think is reasonable and make a decent effort to communicate it. Except if you are skipping meals and bathing, lol -- OCD is bad. But more for you than the site. This left little to ...

I may have screwed one up for you. I approved the edit and "improved" on it, but then I also switched two synonym tags: raspicam <-> camera-board Previously, the former was a synonym for the latter, which means the tag that actually got used was camera-board. I created that mapping a while ago, but I'm pretty sure I did the reverse of what I intended ...

There may be something pathological about this thread. I'm not sure what it is yet, but I'm going to do some research for the Inquisition that will surely follow.

I have noted the serial upvoter over the last year - not from looking at my own posts, but because this serial pest is causing other problems. I had assumed this was a points hound. The serial upvoter seems to upvote practically every question, including poor, off-topic posts which get close votes by experienced members. Unfortunately this causes unanswered ...
